According to Christian tradition, he is an angel who has been expelled from heaven for disobeying or rebelling against God's commands. In some texts he is referred to as Azazel, which means in Hebrew, The Lord of the Lions. It can also be associated with the goat meanings of emissary or scapegoat. The biblical accounts reflect that there were many of them and that among them there was one named Azazel. They were punished by tearing off their wings.
